Meet the Staff of Fallis & Shields Funeral Homes
Bill Shields and Gwen Hogg (nee Fallis) - Gwen was born and raised in Millbrook and is the daughter of Trevor and Carole Fallis. Growing up on the Fallis Line, Gwen is no stranger to Millbrook and the surrounding area. After raising her three children here and spending sometime working at the local Foodland, Gwen now is also part owner and a major part of the funeral home operations, often behind the scenes.
Bill started his career in Toronto in 1985 and has worked in Toronto, Trenton/Campbellford and Lindsay before realising his 30+ year dream in Fallis &Shields Funeral Homes. Bill also has three children that are in various stages in their lives. He is a proud member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 402 in Millbrook. Gwen and Bill are both very happy and proud to be here in Millbrook.
Victoria "Tori" Coke - Tori was born and raised in Guelph ON. At the age of 15 Tori began exploring Funeral Services in Guelph completing her dream as a Licenced Funeral Director by graduating from Humber College, Toronto North Campus in June of 2014.
Tori worked in Lindsay for 2.5 years before coming to the Fallis & Shields Funeral Home in February 2016. We are honoured and grateful to have such a wonderful and caring young lady on staff who excels at taking care of her family's each and every day. In her past time, Tori enjoys her time preforming with the Kawartha Kavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps.
Fern Armstrong - In House Florist and Assistant
Fern wears many hats here at the funeral home but her main role is our in house florist. A local girl with 22 + years florist experience that we treasure very much, she is the best there is. Fern is the first to help in every aspect around the building. It is a pleasure and honour to have her looking after the Fern's Flowers part of the funeral home.
Alex Ruth - Funeral Director Assistant
Alex was a lifetime member of the community. He and his wife Margaret lived on their farm in Cavan which was a love for both of them. Alex brought tremendous value to our firm with his freindly approach and caring attitute. He was active on local Council for many years and several Committiees and Boards. Alex was a Mason (Corintian Lodge 101), A Kawartha Shrine Club Member, a Legion Member among many other groups and associations. Alex died peacefully on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. He will be deeply missed by many and very much by his staff family here at Fallis & Shields. George Wilson - Funeral Director Assistant
George is retired from G.M. He and his wife Arlene live in Cavan. They have 3 sons who also live and are active in the community.
George assists our firm in all aspects of serving our client families. George has many interests including Antique cars and tractors, and maple syrup production. George is always ready to help out whenever called upon. George is one of our greeters.
Jean Lush - Hostess
Jean is an active member of St. John's Anglican Church Ida. Jean has been with our firm since we opened in 2006 and coordinates our receptions. She is a wonderful asset to our team with her pleasant and caring manner.
Bev Hilditch - Hostess
Bev can be found at many functions in the Millbrook area. She helps us out on services when not preforming many roles at St. John's Ida Church and Centennial Place LTC. We are grateful to have Bev on our staff.
Wayne Kyle - Funeral Director Assistant
Wayne has many roles in his life and past, all of them helping others. Wayne is often behind the scenes with us here but is a valuable part of what we do.
Marty Hutchison - Funeral Director Assistant
Marty has recently retired and we didn't want him wandering the streets of Millbrook. A local boy who has and continues to contribute greatly to our community as a volunteer fire fighter and active Legion Br. 402 member. His quiet and helpful way is a huge assist to us and we are glad he has joined our team.
