Helen Lilian Fry (née Winger) died peacefully, surrounded by family, at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario, on Sunday September 11th 2016, in her 87th year. Though Helen always described herself as a kept woman she was the matriarch of Fryfield Farm, renowned as a Master Breeder Guernsey herd. Beloved wife of Frank since 1949, she was an active member of the Anglican Church, long-time volunteer at Women’s Resources in Lindsay, and Ross Memorial Hospital. Helen was a singer, musician, actress, and patron of the arts. Dear mother of Sharon (Ken) Johnston, Jane (Cec) Archer, and John (Maggie) Fry, loving grandmother of Jennifer (Troy) Johnston, Amanda (Lindsey) Ross, Matthew (Meeghan) Archer, the late Jesse (Michelle) Archer, Liam (Andrea) Archer, Michael (Lindsay) Archer, and sadly missed by Lisa Macdonald, David Fry, Rachel (David) Fry, great grandmother of Mackenzie, Eddie, Avery, and Jacob, sister of Ruth (Red – predeceased) Ryan, Stanley (Audrey – predeceased) Winger. Helen will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Service Information

A celebration of Helen’s life will be held in Saint Thomas Anglican Church (16 Centre Street in Millbrook) on Thursday, September 15th at 2:00pm, with visitation one hour prior. In memory of Helen please consider donating to the Canadian Cancer Society and Women’s Resources Kawartha Lakes
