My most predominant memory of Karen was her time with Burl at the Toronto Zoo. They would both arrive at the morning meeting. Burl would make his hello rounds then race back to Karen’s side to start their day. He adored her. Her smile, laughter and gentle manner will always be remembered. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. May your memories help heal your heart.

Back in the "Zoo Diaries" days, we used to tape episodes to send to John's father in Wales. He became an enthusiastic fan of Karen, and on one of his visits, we brought him to the Zoo and he was able to meet Karen in person. She gave him a big hug, which really made his day. Our deepest condolences to her family and friends.
