MONIZ; Kirsten Mae ~ It is with great sadness we announce, after a long and very courageous battle with A.M.L., Kirsten passed away peacefully in her husband’s arms on January 14, 2018 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 37. Kirsten (née McDonald) was the loving and treasured best friend and wife of Peter Moniz for 17 years. Proud and ever-loving mother of Julia and Alysha. Predeceased by her father Ronald McDonald. Survived by her mother Sue Drew, step-father Rick Drew, mother-in-law Kathy Moniz and father-in-law Avelino Moniz. Cherished sister of Ron, Rob and Gwen McDonald; sister-in-law of Jean-Paul Moniz and his wife Diane. Aunt of Isaac and Mackenzie. Niece of Tom and Carol Fair. Kirsten was a beautiful woman who loved her family very much. She will always be missed and never forgotten. In keeping with Kirsten’s wishes, cremation has take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at

Kirsten was a beautiful soul. I was so lucky to be her friend for so many years. I will remember all the memories we had. A wonderful mom, wife, and friend. Thoughts and prayers go to Pete, Julia, Alysha and family. love you all.
