M. June Hendren
June Hendren (nee Galway)
June passed away peacefully at Centennial Place in Millbrook on September 21, 2019 at the age of 90. She was pre deceased by husband Rodger Hendren, her daughter Laurie Hendren , brother Joseph Galway and her sister Fanny (Toots) May. She is survived by her brother Roy Galway.
June is survived by son Paul Hendren , daughter-in-law Belinda Lo and son-in-law Prakash Panangaden. Grandchildren Jane Panangaden, Darren Hendren and Brian Hendren will miss their Gram deeply, especially when they joined each other for a refreshing dip in Chandos Lake.
June was born outside of Gananoque before settling in Peterborough where she pursued a teaching career, marriage and parenthood.
Known as a master baker and blanket maker who enjoyed a good novel, June cherished cottage life where summers at Chandos Lake were a regular destination for decades. It was at Chandos Lake where June's small army of nieces and nephews gravitated to her and her ability to produce delicious cheese bread and cookies.
June's warm personality, sharp wit and her penchant to care about others will be missed.
A celebration of June's life will be held next summer at the Glen Alda Community Centre. Details will be sent to family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family would be grateful if donations could be made to the North Kawartha Library ( www.northkawarthalibrary.com)
I wish you comfort in the memories of your loved one. The Bible gives a real hope of being reunited again with your loved one. It promises that your loved one will soon come back to life in the resurrection to a peaceful paradise on the earth. (John 5:28, 29) Sincerely, S. Ellis

Paul, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. She was such an incredible, lovely, funny and caring person. She always had a smile and a hug. “Junie”, as my kids called her, never missed an opportunity to come and over and say hello to them. Your parents were such wonderful neighbours and family friends. We are fortunate to have had them in our lives.
