Pauline Marilyn Monahan
MONAHAN; Pauline Marilyn ~ February 13, 1933 – April 19, 2018 ~ After a brief illness at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 85. Pauline Monahan (nee Merritt) was the beloved wife of the late James Douglas Monahan (1999). Loving mother of Hugh (Monika), Paul (Chrissy) and Michael. Loved grandmother of Megan, Maria, Rachel, Madison, Danielle, Chantel, Katie and Jimmy. Great grandmother of Brayden, Carson and Kendall. Dear sister of Enid Williams, Mary “Chuckie” Tobin (Ernie), Jacqueline Armstrong (Kevin), Kelvin Merritt, and Billy Merritt (Emma). Predeceased by her parents Hilliary James and Adele Merritt (nee Poirier), sisters Geraldine (the late Eddy), Elaine Cole (the late Alec) and Bernadette Marie Merritt. Pauline will be remembered by her sister in laws Marlene, and Shirley. Dear Aunt of Juliette, Marilyn, Jimmy, David, Denise, Patty (John) and the late Michelle and great aunt to Lauren, Brie, Tara, and Becky. Pauline worshiped at the St. Alphonsus Liguori (Peterborough)and the St. Thomas More (Millbrook) Roman Catholic Churches. She was a member of the Canadian College of Health Record Administrators (HRT) and worked in the Medical Records department of SickKids Hospital, and in the Pathology department at the Queensway General Hospital, Toronto, under Dr. Jaffe and the University of Guelph.
Memorial visitation and gathering will be held at the Fallis & Shields Funeral Home, 35 King St. W., Millbrook on Wednesday, April 25th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm followed by an interment at Highland Park Cemetery, Peterborough. Prayers will be held at the funeral at 2:45 pm. In memory of Pauline, donations may be made to the St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Millbrook or a Charity of Your Choice and would be appreciated by the family.
