Sutherland; Sandra Maureen ~ Suddenly, but peacefully, she was called home to heaven after a brief battle with cancer, February 25, 2018 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 77. Her devotion to family and firm belief in God supported her in her struggle; ultimately giving her peace. Born April 10, 1940 in Trenton, ON, adopted and was raised in Bancroft. Loved daughter of the late Garnett and Eva Solmes. The pinnacle of Sandra’s life was marrying the love of her life, Glenn Sutherland at the Bancroft Bible Chapel on June 22 nd 1963. They lived their life together in Bewdley with special memories made with friends during summers at the cottage at Mazinaw Lake. Sandra will be remembered for her laugh and her generous contributions to her community and church family through countless hours of volunteering. She was an active and dedicated member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Cobourg. Sandra was predeceased by her beloved husband Glenn Sutherland of 53 years.Loving mother of daughter Tawnya (Marv) of White Rock, BC and son Todd (Angela) of Cobourg. Loving Grandma to Danielle (Chris), Ryan (Brittney), Connor, Jack, and Harry, and great-grandmother of Everly and Decker. Sandra will also be missed by her brother and sister in laws, Dorothy Kelly, Grace Stringer, Betty Chidley (Merrick), Ilene Myers, Helen Green, and Dennis Sutherland (Kathie) and many, many nieces and nephews.

Service Information

The family will receive visitors at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 469 Elgin St. West, Cobourg on Friday, March 2nd between 6 - 9 pm. The funeral will take place on Saturday, March 3 rd at 11:00 am in the church. Pastor Dave Bell and Pastor Jeff Bell presiding with a lunch to follow. All are welcome to attend. Cremation has taken place. In memory of Sandra, donations to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre – Dialysis Unit, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Sandra was a member of my team in the local ladies' bowling league. We were already missing her smile and bubbly personality. The news of her passing has been sad and shocking. My thoughts and prayers go out to Tanya, Todd and all family members.

I have known Sandra since I was 6 and she always had a smile for me and her love for God and her family always showed through. She was a wonderful woman and will be missed. Hugs and kisses to her family with much love.
