Member of Millbrook and District Lions Club since 2000 – peacefully at home on Wednesday October 7, 2015 at the age of 71. Daughter of the late Eva and Bill Thomas. Beloved wife and best friend for 54 years to Carl. Cherished mother of Keith (Nancy), Lorraine Cowen and Louise (Steven) Dobbin. Proud grandmother of Michelle, Micheal (Jessica), Ashley (Ron), Brittany (Matt), Kyle, Laura-Lynn (Joe), Jack and the late Linda. Loving great grandmother of Sarah, Ryder, Brooklyn, Lincoln, Addison and Anna. Dear sister of Larry (Joan), Leon (Anne), Brian (Betty) and Pam (Tom). Predeceased by siblings Susan, Leonard and Baby Larry. Sister in law to Vilda (the late Alan), Freeda (the late Herb), Joan and the late Dorothy. Linda will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, family and many friends.

Service Information

Visitation will be held in the Millbrook Christian Assembly (71 King Street West, Millbrook) on Monday October 12, from 6-9pm. A celebration of life service will be held also in the Millbrook Christian Assembly on Tuesday October 13 at 1:30pm. Rev. Lynda Hodgins and Rev. John Sloan officiating. Interment in St. John’s Ida Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Zion Cemetery or St. John’s Ida Cemetery may be made in person at the service or by visiting

Simon, my point is that if you are already a Justice beofre acquiring your social group, the social group you acquire is going to be a lot less partisan than the one you would have had beofre. Because Souter, OConner, and, kennedy had no prior social group in DC rooted in conservatism, they were free to drift. In Souter's case, his social group (if he has any at all) became Blackmun's because he hit it off with Blackmun right way.It is also interesting to note that Blackmun, who was a turn-coat, also never lived in DC beofre he was appointed. It is also well known that Blackmun and Warren Burger became bitter enemies after Blackmun started switching left... thus proving that in DC, you really only run with those you agree with.
