It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of William H. Pielsticker, known to his friends as Sandy. Sandy passed away on August 7th, 2025 at his apartment in Sherbrooke Heights Residence in Peterborough. The residents and staff of the facility have erected a small memorial in the hallway to honor what Sandy meant to the community. Sandy was born June 1 1952. He is survived by his brothers Peter and Robert Pielsticker, his children Patrick and Beth Pielsticker, and his former wife, Eileen, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. Although they were separated at the time of his passing, Eileen was a longstanding part of his life, and their shared years and memories remained meaningful to him. Sandy worked at Houghton Canada for 30 years, retiring as the general manager in 2010. Sandy will be remembered for his quiet nature, his sense of humour, and his love of family. An avid golfer for much of his life and a lover of nature, Sandy enjoyed gathering with friends and family to showcase his euchre and wizard skills with his playful spirit. The medical team indicates he suffered a stroke and passed away at home. A Celebration of Life will be held at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd. Peterborough on Saturday September 6th, 2025 from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

He will be remembered for good nature, his kind way and ability to hold a conversation with anyone.
