E. Dolores Flood
FLOOD; Dolores ~ We regret to announce the death of DOLORES FLOOD (nee BOISSONNEAU), on Friday, September 24, 2021 in Peterborough ON in her 87th year. Wife to the late Jim Flood for 60 years, mother of Bernard (Louise), Theresa (Robert), Rita, the late Dennis (Susan), and the late Charlie. Beloved grandmother to Vanessa, Hillary (Pete), Danielle, Ashley, Mike (Bayleigh), Jacqueline, and Blake. Originally from Scarborough, the Flood family moved to Fraserville where they put down roots at "The Flood Family Fun Farm and Fraserville Dart Emporium." The hosts with the most, the Floods were well known in town for opening their doors to many families to cut their own Christmas trees, ride along on hay rides, growing a community garden and supplying a bounty for their vegetable stands and various themed gatherings. The family contributed floats for local parades and Dolores created various hand sewn costumes. They dedicated their time to put on magic shows and performances to bring people together and remind them to move about the world in their own wonderful whimsical ways. Dolores worked at Kinark Child & Family Services for twenty years in Peterborough ON. Both Dolores and Jim were highly active in their local church, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 402 where they hosted many family picnics and entertainment days. Dolores was also involved in dart and bowling leagues, volleyball and cross-country skiing. She was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan, attending many games at the dome with her family and friends, and loved spending time with her many grandchildren, leading them on magical mystery tours, chasing sunsets, and supporting their hobbies. The family would like to give special thanks to the health care teams at Sunnybrook Hospital, PRHC, and in particular, Hospice Peterborough for the special care and dignity the staff extended to Dolores.
There will be a private funeral under COVID restrictions for immediate family only, and respects may be paid later at Dolores' final resting place at Gardiner's Cemetery on County Rd. 10 in Millbrook. The family wishes for donations to be made to Hospice Peterborough https://www.hospicepeterborough.org/donate/ or the Heart & Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers. As Dolores would often say, "Have a rainbow day."
Our deepest sympathy and prayers for the family. We will keep Dolores in our prayers. She was a wonderful lady.

Sending our condolences to the family at this difficult time. Mike and I loved Spending time at the farm for many years. Playing darts in the drive shead, having pops with friends, it was always a great time at harvest time. Delores would always make sure everyone had lots to take home.
