Jan Gunnar Larsson

Gothenburg, Sweden 7 October 1944 22:15 – Cobourg, Canada 24 May 2016 1:20

Jan Larsson passed away peacefully with family and friends. He is survived by his three children: Hans Larsson, Stig Larsson, Ingrid Larsson, eight grandchildren, and his three younger siblings in Sweden: Rolf, Kaisa, and Lena. He also leaves behind his step daughter Pamela Brittain and many friends throughout the world, including his two close friends Dora Burnie and Scott Dowle.

His life ended rather differently than he lived it since there were few times he could be described as "peaceful". Whether growing up exploring explosives as an adolescent, travelling around the world looking for new sights and parties as an adult, and developing his businesses, he sought all things on his terms. The Big Swede made quite an impression on many.

A reception to celebrate his life will be held this Sunday 29 May from 3pm – 6pm at the Port Hope Royal Canadian Legion 29A Thomas St. In lieu of flowers, any donations are requested to the Northumberland Human Society, in support of Jan’s love of animals. Funeral arrangements are provided by Benson Shields Funeral Home
